The Red Kettle Inn Bed and Breakfast

We loved being able to walk straight from the Red Kettle Inn into Watkins Glen, and it also made a great base for wine tasting around the area. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. Trudi is a wonderful host, a great conversationalist with lots of local knowledge, and a talented cook. Each morning began with a seasonal multi-course breakfast and a nice chat with the other guests. We can’t wait to return.

Our family of nine stayed one weekday night and had a really good time. Trudi was generous and welcoming, and breakfast was a highlight.

I spent two nights at the Red Kettle Inn to visit Watkins Glen park and town, the wineries, and the Finger Lakes. Trudi was responsive, warm, and welcoming, and it was lovely getting to know her. Breakfast was generous, different each day, and something I looked forward to. She also packed us a little travel goody bag when we left. The inn is clean, quaint, charming, and full of decorative touches, with a wonderful atmosphere. It made for a much appreciated weekend escape from NYC. It’s an easy walk to the main street for food and shopping and to Seneca Lake. Watkins Glen State Park’s entrance is a 12-minute walk, about 0.6 miles. Trudi mentioned that she had one or two bikes available for getting around town, but I wanted to explore on foot. I’d absolutely stay here again next time I’m in the area.

We stayed four nights in the Rose Room, and the Red Kettle Inn was a convenient base for visiting the wineries around the lake. The waterfront, main street restaurants and shops, and Watkins Glen State Park are all within walking distance. The accommodations are quaint and comfortable. Trudi, the innkeeper, was an absolute delight, so kind and helpful. Breakfast changed every day and was always a fun, delicious surprise. We also enjoyed chatting with the other guests in the mornings. We’d highly recommend the inn to anyone visiting Watkins Glen, and would definitely book it again if we return.
