Quality Inn

I was concerned after reading some reviews, but things were fine. The staff were courteous, nice, and attentive. My room wasn't the best, though the beds and bathroom were clean. The wallpaper looks like it needs replacing, instead of being held up with staples, and it could use a new coat of paint.

After we accidentally left our new clothes in the room, we called about an hour later to make sure they were still there. Some had been given away, kept, or sold, apparently, because when we followed up three days later only three of the nine items remained. That's the last dollar I'll spend at Quality Inn of Huntington, and this experience took it from four stars down to one.

The room had a stained carpet, a hole in the fiberglass shower, and the third-floor hallway smelled strongly of marijuana. But the worst part was the safety failure: while we were in bed around midnight, a man unlocked our room and walked in because the front desk had assigned him the room we were already occupying. Associate JR blamed a tech issue, then treated moving the other guest to another room as if he’d done me a favor. The workers at the desk the next morning seemed to find the situation funny. They put both us and the other guest in danger. The customer service was awful, and I won’t stay here again or choose Choice Hotels if this is the service the company provides.

We stayed here on May 31st. The room and service were fine, but the atmosphere really wasn’t. Someone on our floor let their dog run through the hallway, and it tried to get into my room. Later they brought it into the pool room and took it into the pool, where it pooped in the pool area. The guest got cleaning supplies and made a token effort to clean it up, so I assume the desk knew. Not everyone wants to swim around a nasty dog, and this wasn’t a service animal. Later that night, the next-door guest kept throwing something on the floor, so I called the desk. Then the arguing went on for the rest of the night.
