Sonesta Simply Suites Chicago Waukegan

We had a two-bedroom suite for my daughter's basic training graduation, and the rooms were spacious with comfortable beds. The grounds were lovely, the pool was nice, and breakfast was delicious with GREAT coffee. Most of all, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. My girls and I loved staying here!

We stayed for a week and had no problems with the room itself. Nights were another story. We were on the first floor, and I could hear the night staff's entire conversations because they were extremely loud. One night I called after letting it ring several times to ask if they could please keep it down, but I was put on hold. Early mornings and late nights aren't usually a problem for me, unless the noise means I barely sleep.

It's been more than three weeks, beyond the timeframe in their policy, and Sonesta still has a security hold on my card. I called and they confirmed the exact date it was supposed to come off, but that date has passed. Apparently other customers have this problem with the company too, so be careful booking with Sonesta.

The full-size refrigerator was fantastic. It's hard to find a proper one in hotel rooms, and I was really happy to have it. Our suite with an extra bedroom served its purpose, and the price was unbeatable. The place was clean and friendly, and check-in was the easiest and kindest we've experienced. The staff made us feel so welcome, more than at resorts abroad that try to please everyone. We were in town to watch my son graduate from the Navy. We thought we'd booked the same hotel farther down the road, which is larger and has a pool and basketball courts. If you're bringing family, pay attention to which hotel you're reserving. It's confusing to have two so close together with the same name. Still, we made this room work and had a good experience.
