Clarion Hotel & Conference Center Lansing West

For the price, I guess you get what you pay for. Remodeling was going on in many rooms, and I didn't feel safe there. The doors and windows seemed sketchy, and the pictures online didn't match what we found. The gym was tiny, and the pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. We switched rooms because the first bed had hair all over it, which made me wonder if the sheets were really changed.

Only good parts were a comfortable bed and that they let us bring dogs. The rest was a horrible stay. Our room was dirty, the sliding door was broken, and there weren't enough towels. Breakfast was gross, empty, and attended by a rude woman. The front desk person was rude and unhelpful too. The hotel felt run down, with construction making it a maze to reach our room. The room and hallways were freezing.

I paid $70 a night and thought that was a really good deal for this hotel. I missed breakfast because I overslept, so I can't comment on it. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and looked clean too, and there wasn't any bad smell at all. As a woman traveling alone, feeling safe at night matters a lot to me, and I felt safe here. The front desk workers were very friendly. The woman working when I arrived late was smiling and seemed kind, and the person at checkout was friendly too and gave me a compliment. I enjoyed my stay.

My husband and I were uncomfortable all night, and I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're traveling to Lansing. The worst part was that the booking couldn't be refunded. Online photos didn't show the real condition of the hotel. We were shocked to find water damage, holes in the ceilings, and a roof that looked like it was falling in. We tried to overlook that, but the first room had hair and random stains on the bedding. We accepted an offer to switch rooms, and the next one was dirty too. When we told the woman at the desk, she seemed annoyed by our complaints. The amenities were the best part, but this was the worst hotel I've stayed in.
