Traveler Inn and Suites

At first things seemed pretty good. The night shift guy was friendly and got me into a room quickly. Then I pulled back the sheet and found a bug in the bed. I wanted nothing more to do with the place and just wanted to keep driving. They offered another room, and I looked at it, but after that I knew I wasn’t going to sleep there. The desk clerk said he couldn’t give me a refund. I tried calling the manager during the day, but the phone service was so broken I could barely understand her. What I took from the conversation was that she wasn’t able or willing to refund a stay of less than an hour, most of which I’d spent in the office rather than in the rooms. The chairs and furniture were dirty too. Keep driving or stay at one of the bigger hotels down the road.

Inside, the room was basically clean, and I didn’t see any bugs. The outside of the room doors was dirty, though, enough to make me hesitate and nearly leave. A cleaning or paint job is overdue, and would make the place more appealing. There wasn’t coffee in the room or lobby, but the gas station next door sells it for a very reasonable $1 a cup. For Waynesboro, this is the cleanest place I’ve found. If I need to stay in town, I won’t choose another one. This is the best pick.

The owner is always pleasant, and I was comfortable here even though the building is older and nothing fancy. It’s reasonably priced, very clean and well located. Everything worked, including the small refrigerator and microwave in my room, which helped a lot. The bed was comfortable too. By far the best motel choice in Waynesboro, and I highly recommend it.
