Park Inn by Radisson, Wells

The room was dirty, though after checking the mattresses it seemed not to have bed bugs, so it was at least stayable. It's right off Hwy 93. The TV didn't work. Maps listed a Motel 6 for $36 and a Park Inn, by Radisson for $64, so we chose the Park Inn. In Maps and at the office it says Park Inn, but the Wi-Fi slip inside the key card sleeve has "Motel 6" and a password handwritten on the back. The soap wrapper also says "Motel 6." The floors looked like they hadn't been swept before someone mopped around everything without moving it. There was old dust and hair all along the floor edges. The bathroom sink had a huge black hair draped across it, and several very long hairs stuck to the wall above the small trash can. The cleaner would've had to look right there while changing the bag, so I can only guess it was deliberately ignored. The photo shows the filth on the floor in front of one trash can. We didn't move it, and the mess looked exactly like that when we entered.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. I had booked and prepaid through Booking.com for May 14 to May 15, and arrived in the early hours of May 15. The reservation was still valid because checkout wasn't until 11 AM. After driving for hours from California, I only wanted a few hours of sleep before continuing my trip. The employee was outside smoking when I got there and made me wait until he finished. Once I gave my name, he said there was no reservation. I showed him the prepaid Booking.com confirmation on my phone, and his attitude immediately got worse. He kept saying that arriving late made the reservation invalid, even though checkout time hadn't passed. I explained that it was active and paid, but he wouldn't listen. I called Booking.com support. Their representative tried calling the hotel, but the employee ignored the phone until I went back inside myself and asked him to answer. When he finally spoke to the representative, he was awful to them, raising his voice and saying I was “their customer, not the hotel’s customer.” In the end, I had to leave and continue my trip exhausted, without the room I'd already paid for. It was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable service. Management needs to seriously investigate this employee's conduct.

Check-in was easy, and I left feeling rested. The room was clean and quiet, with a comfortable bed, and was exactly what I needed.

The place was quiet and inexpensive, so it was good value for the price. It's being remodeled.
