The hotel was in a very quiet area, and the free full breakfast was good. We could tell it had been remodeled, and the price was good for the area. The young woman at the desk helped when another customer wouldn’t take their clothes out of the washer and dryer. My daughter was really impressed by her. We loved our day around here, and the Maritime Museum was a treasure to find. Our only issue was that our handicap room had a great entrance but no shower chair, which made it a little scary when you can’t stand for long.

The kids loved this charming, quaint, America themed place, and it’s the cheapest option in the area. It’s also in a prime spot, close to everything and within 30 minutes of the major beaches and towns in southern Maine. I’ve been coming here for 30 years, and the owners and staff are some of the nicest and most responsive I’ve met. We had sandy sheets, no hot water, and an AC that quit, but the staff resolved each issue as quickly as they could and apologized for mechanical breakdowns they couldn’t control. They kept us updated, and we had some great conversations too. I respect the effort they put into the motel and the respect they show customers from arrival to departure. If we need a good place that leaves us enough money to take the kids to the expensive attractions nearby, I’ll come back. We’re lucky to have such awesome people in our lives. The location is perfect, the room was great, and breakfast was good. The bed was very worn, though. I emailed flag ship before we came to ask if the hot tub would be open, and they said yes until the 20th. We booked because my husband has a bad back, but when we got there it was just a hot tub, since the jets were broken. If someone asks about something like that, they should be honest and say it’s broken.

I was unsure at first because the price was so low, but the room turned out clean and comfortable, with everything we needed to get a good night’s sleep. It’s a great value for the money. The only thing I’d suggest is tidying the outdoor grounds a bit. We really enjoyed staying here and would come back.
