The atrium is the real showpiece here. Every time I return, I’m blown away by how impressive it is, and it’s a lovely place to eat, relax, or have a drink or two. The rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and a free trolley can take you to the French Lick Resort. The property welcomes pets, but check the requirements before planning to bring yours. There’s a cafe serving Starbucks coffee, though Starbucks credits don’t work there. If a quiet, relaxing visit is your goal, I’d suggest coming during the school season. A lot of parents seem to let their kids run wild in the atrium, with screaming, running, jumping on furniture, and kicking balls around as if it were a gym. It’s unfortunate, and I wish the resort enforced a code of conduct like similar places do. A stay at West Baden belongs on everyone’s bucket list.

Sinclairs, the main restaurant, had fabulous food. Everything we ordered was amazing. The hotel is gorgeous and really well appointed, and the service was spectacular from arrival through the drive home. We’ll definitely return!

There’s a complimentary trolley and train running throughout the day to the French Lick Springs property and other nearby areas, which is very convenient. The pool is huge, and the large jacuzzi was perfect for my little one. We love this property for its history and family-friendly atmosphere. The West Baden Hotel feels luxurious but quaint, with rooms designed to reflect the era in which the hotel was built and has endured. I’d recommend taking a tour or picking up a gift store book to learn more about the property and its significance while you’re there. Beautiful facilities!

We spent Valentine's weekend here and had a great stay. The staff were friendly, the food was great, and the spa was amazing. Our room was very nice, and the balcony overlooking the atrium was a really cool feature.

Dinner at Ballards in the Atrium didn’t go well. The hostess seemed disinterested and, even with half the tables empty, said we’d have to wait an hour for service. We left the grounds and found dinner elsewhere. Check-in was slow, though checkout was quick and painless. The rooms and grounds are wonderful, and the hotel is interesting. It’s a great place to visit for one night, but I’m not sure it works for a full weekend.
