We were welcomed right at the door by a gentleman and a trainee, and the trainee immediately connected with me over my hat. The gentleman did a great job showing him the ropes. Our room was clean and really nice. The bed was on the firm side but still pretty comfortable. I’d stay here again when I’m passing through. #BOOMER

After two weeks on the road, the roomy, clean room felt like home. Tanisha at the front desk was especially kind and friendly, and I appreciated how willing she was to help guests. Such a lovely hotel all around.

The location was good, and a front desk agent quickly helped with a room issue. That’s the only reason I’m giving two stars. In more than 20 years of staying at Hiltons, this was my worst experience with one. The room wasn’t clean: there was a used Kleenex and an ear Q tip under the couch pullout, plus a dried eye contact in the bathroom. We also didn’t have sheets for the pullout bed. The agent sent two housekeeping staff right away, but the woman in charge was rude, insisted I was wrong, and said sheets were in the closet by the bathroom. I checked under the pillows and the plastic cover they go in and showed her there weren’t any. I have eyes. She was also rude to the person she seemed to be training, and had no people skills. In the morning, the desk person was rude too, didn’t look at us when we returned the keys, ask about our stay, or thank us. We wouldn’t recommend this place and won’t stay here again when passing through Des Moines.

Breanna at the front desk was especially friendly and always remembered my name. The rooms are a nice size and have kitchens, and there’s a good gym and indoor pool. Parking was easy, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Really enjoyed the stay.
