Belton Chalet

Jill was kind and followed up with us throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. The hotel is more than a century old and has plenty of history and old-time charm, yet the renovated rooms and facilities were very clean and comfortable. West Glacier Village is an easy walk away.

The homemade pasta and amazing steak were highlights, and the waitstaff was wonderful. Such a fun atmosphere and a really cool experience. I'd recommend making a reservation.

There's coffee and pastries in the morning, but no fridge in the room, and the WiFi kept cutting out. The person at the front desk seemed to be just a college student, so the accommodation wasn't anything special.

The quick access to the West Glacier entrance is the property's main advantage. We stayed at Belton Chalet the first week of September, and based on our experience it was at best a two-star hotel, nowhere near five stars. We've stayed in historic properties around the world, and this place could be so much better. The hotel needs maintenance: rotting boards, slow drains, loud moaning pipes, creaky floors, stained sinks, and dirty, stained curtains and blinds. The internet was awful and needs an update too. There was no breakfast service, only a few day-old pastries and a thermos of coffee. We had dinner in the restaurant. The pasta was good, though $33 for a plate with only a piece of toasted bread and no other sides felt like a lot. The servers seemed flustered and didn't know much about the wines. They brought us a $250 check instead of our $100 bill. The front desk staff were nice and helpful, but we disliked the hotel enough to leave a night early. They charged us a $30 early checkout fee. They should either fully update the hotel rooms or close that part and focus on the restaurant. Look at their response, it's exactly what they say to everyone.
