Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Ocean City by IHG

The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, and I can’t say enough about them. The hotel and room were very clean, and the entry area felt warm and inviting. Keep up the great work, and thank you!

The room was clean and nice, and the staff were pleasant. Breakfast was disappointing. The decaf coffee was ice cold, but when I mentioned it, they brewed a fresh pot right away. The fruit didn’t look fresh: the oranges were dark and discolored, and the bananas were overripe. It was unappetizing, and the oranges in the photo look old and dark.

The room had no odor, unlike some hotels where you notice the smell before you even walk in, and the customer service was on point. One thing, though: the mattress wasn’t comfortable, and I could feel the box underneath it. Maybe I’m being picky. This was one of the best stays I’ve had.

We’ve stayed at other Holiday Inn Express hotels, and this one wasn’t among the best. The furnishings and carpet in our room were old and worn, and the room felt dirty and neglected. The beds were unusually high, the shower curtain was cheap, and the chrome fixtures and lamps were old and pitted. The TV picture kept shifting from warm to cold, and changing channels was awkward and difficult. Staff seemed okay, but not the best. Breakfast was pretty good. I’d look for another hotel in the area that’s cleaner and less run down. This place is struggling badly.
