The Jaxon

The Jaxon was clean, the rooms were fairly priced, and the staff were very kind over email. There’s a great taco truck within walking distance. I’d definitely choose this place again.

We booked through Expedia to get the promo, and the whole stay was easy and smooth. The room had a kitchenette and lots of useful extras: toiletries, disposable slippers, eye masks, coffee machine, hot water kettle, hot plate, flatware, silverware, microwave, and fridge. The shower gets hot and has great pressure. It’s contactless, but customer service by phone and email was superb. The room itself was crisp and clean. There are wheelchair-accessible rooms on the first floor, though you still have to walk up stairs to reach the second floor. Only downside was no bathroom exhaust fan for the steam, though there is a window.

It’s good value for the money, and I’d stay again if I were in the area. The staff were helpful and friendly, and service was fine. The room and everything in it were very clean. Ours didn’t have a table or chairs, though other rooms might, and they said they may fix that. The neighborhood isn’t exactly upscale, but it’s fairly quiet and not unsafe, despite what I read in another post.

The room worked well for me and my teenager, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a bigger family. We had a studio with cups, plates, a hot plate, Kuerig coffee pot, and pan. The microwave was tiny, though it could fit standard cups or a small plate. The decor tied together nicely and gave the clean room and property a chic feel. Self check-in was easy, with a code to get in and lock up when leaving. The shower pressure was superb. We did hear what sounded like fireworks, and could easily hear someone walking in heels. Aside from that, it was a nice stay.
