Kingfish at West Sound

The food was good and the location nice, but I wish I'd been warned that my room would smell so bad. I was staying in one of the rooms and noticed the construction outside. At least the workers installing the quote" system were kind, respectful, and really hardworking. I can't remember their names, and I think they worked for Island excavating based on the truck name, though I'm not sure. We chatted for a while, and they explained what was going on. They seemed eager to get to know me, and I was glad to talk with them.

The dinner was delicious, full of flavor and nicely presented, and the views made the meal even better. I loved the fresh, local ingredients and the very friendly staff. Even the bread appetizer with homemade jam felt special, silly as that may sound. A lovely restaurant experience.

The food was beautiful, creative, and genuinely inspiring, and I highly recommend the desserts. The location is lovely, too. But I can't give this a higher rating because the service struggled. My wife and I were here for our honeymoon, and after ordering we waited 55 minutes for our food. Our appetizer never arrived because, it turned out, the order hadn't been passed to the kitchen. I understand there was a party of 7-8 people ahead of us. One part of my chicken pesto also had a big-boned drum in it. The food itself was amazing, which makes this disappointing.

Suite 4 was nicely decorated and very clean, but it was noisy for what we paid. The inn is at an intersection, so we heard every car going by, including loud cars and motorcycles at all hours. Then, at 8:30 am on 7/30, septic service was underway and the truck blocked our way out. Nobody had told us beforehand, our room smelled like poop, and the host didn't answer my texts or calls when I tried to leave. We would not recommend the place and won't return.
