Geyser Inn

There’s so much noise in the walls and from the elevator. This hotel sucks. If you want to sleep well, don’t come here.

Geyser Inn is small, but it’s a comfortable and really nice place to stay. Breakfast was good, and Indida at the front desk was kind and helpful. Everyone else we met was friendly too, including the older gentleman serving breakfast and the housekeeping ladies. The service felt amazing, almost like being at home. A great place if you’re visiting the area.

We were traveling as three generations, including little kids, and would definitely come back. The beds being against the wall worked perfectly for us, since I usually have to move beds that way in other hotels. We bring a foam topper so the teenager can sleep on the floor, and there was plenty of space; the front desk readily gave us extra blankets. We also use a white noise machine, so I can’t speak to the room’s soundproofing. The elevator worked quietly, and our room was right across from it. There’s a microwave and mini fridge, the AC worked great, and the memory foam-like beds gave us a great night’s sleep. The bathroom was very clean, with a retractable clothesline in the shower, shampoo and conditioner, and a clean, quiet exhaust fan. The shower got nice and hot with good pressure, though there aren’t adjustable spray settings, which was fine for us. Watch out, the sink water can get very hot, though it wasn’t a problem for us. They make waffles for breakfast. The location is less than a mile from Yellowstone’s West Entrance, and there’s a zipline across the street. There’s no pool or hot tub, and no pets.

The inn’s cellular signal was very poor, just 1-2 bars, unlike the rest of West Yellowstone, so we felt completely cut off. The advertised WiFi also had no internet access at all during our two-night stay, making it useless for anything online. When I raised it with Dani, he first blamed the hotel being full. After I and other guests confirmed it was a total outage rather than slow speeds, he said the hotel knew about the systemwide problem and was “trying to upgrade hardware.” Since they know the internet is broken and still advertise WiFi, the stay was disappointing.
