Quality Inn & Suites Westminster Seal Beach

Being so close to Disneyland was the best thing about this hotel. The room had enough space for our family of five, but we spotted two silverfish, and the tub fixtures were stained and gross. You could hear every door closing and sounds from the neighboring rooms through the thin walls. Breakfast was mediocre, and there wasn't much seating, so it felt more like a grab-and-go stop. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it if comfort and cleanliness matter to you.

(The hummingbird) I stayed at many top hotel chains over the years, but rarely met someone with Ha's mix of professionalism, kindness, and positive energy. At the front desk of Quality Inn Seal Beach, Ha was warm and genuinely helpful at both check-in and checkout. She answered questions, gave thoughtful recommendations, and made everything easy and stress-free. A huge shoutout to her.

We booked six nights. For the first few, we had no issues, though the room they gave us smelled strongly of cigarettes despite being booked as non-smoking. I didn't complain because I just needed somewhere to stay. The second-to-last morning, a fire alarm woke us. Vivian at the front desk said it was a test required by the fire department, so we took her word for it and tried to sleep again. About an hour later, another alarm blared from a ceiling speaker. We couldn't turn it off, and the desk said it was mandatory and would end soon. It kept going for at least two minutes. It was extremely disruptive, triggered an anxiety attack, and led to a call to the doctor. Roughly an hour later, the same thing happened again, with another very loud alarm lasting at least two minutes. After that, we couldn't get back to sleep, had to get up for the day's schedule, and couldn't focus on our work because we were so short on sleep. After looking into it, we found the hotel should have warned us about the test alarms, and that more than one test alarm in a day is extremely unusual. We politely asked for a partial refund or some other compensation for the major inconvenience. The man at the desk said he couldn't help and told us to speak with Vivian around 7 am the next day, which meant rescheduling our own time. Vivian said she couldn't help either, but suggested her boss, Serena. Serena wasn't available, so we left our number for a call. She never called. We got no compensation or even communication. It felt like nobody cared, and every employee just passed our complaint along to the next. Then there was the $200 deposit. At check-in I was assured it would be refunded at checkout, but three days later my card statement showed the full $200 charge hadn't been returned. After paying to stay somewhere, I expected at least minimal courtesy. We got none. I can't give this more than one star.

The hot breakfast buffet had juice, eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, sweet rolls, and more. I slept better here than I do at home. It was extremely clean and quiet, the finest Quality Inn I've stayed at. Stay here!
