Motel 6 Wheatland, WY

The floors looked new and were clean, and the air conditioner worked great. The bedding needs replacing, though: the sheets are old and getting see-through, and there were only two thin pillows. In the bathroom, paint was chipping in the tub, the showerhead leaked from both the head and spout, and the towels were very thin and ragged.

We had three cats with us, so it was a relief that pets were welcome. The rooms were very clean, too. My mom and I were late checking out, but the staff stayed friendly and patient and didn’t charge us for another night. The manager also made sure security was increased so everyone could feel safe, and she’s ready to help if anything comes up.

We brought a large crew in for an outage, with people working both day and night shifts. The hotel moved room service to late afternoon so the night shift wouldn’t be disturbed, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. You could hear outdoor noise through the walls, though. Even so, I’d have no reservations about using this hotel for our next outage.

The rooms were clean and comfortable enough for the price. My only suggestion is for the receptionist to make a little effort with guests. We said “good evening” and got “NAME?” in reply, and apparently that was how she greeted everyone. Saying hi or good evening isn’t hard. Maybe customer service isn’t the right job for her. 😄
