There’s not much to do here unless you’re happy watching TV all day. The TVs are really bad, the rooms have no wifi, and they look shabby from outside. Rooms were only slightly above par. The food is expensive, nearly $100 for four people if everyone gets an entree, drink, and dessert. I have pictures of the desserts and the nearby indoor waterpark h2ooooooooh. The hotel’s indoor pool, not h2ooooooh, had so much chlorine that my skin turned red and got marks. I also don’t understand why you have to be 18 or over to use a hot tub. There’s no free dinner or breakfast either. Split Rock Resort is much better, though there’s plenty of room for improvement here.

I booked massages for our group months ahead, but when we arrived there was nobody at the spa. The hotel receptionist tried calling, and I called four times during the day myself. No one answered. How can a business fail to show up when it has reservations on the books? This was awful. Don’t go here.

The front desk clerks are doing what they can, even though people speak rudely to them and the managers are nowhere to be seen. I feel for them. My cousin stayed here ten years ago for his anniversary and remembered top of the line service and a place that looked great. I sent him pictures of how it looks now, and he was saddened by the decline. The place looks shabby because it’s dirty, with stuff scattered around, not simply because the decor and furniture are old. I watched an employee pass garbage on the floor and table without picking it up. Guests should take responsibility for their mess too. It seems to have lost its shine, perhaps because of the pandemic, and needs more employees. I assume pandemic programs make it better for employees to stay home and earn more than come to work. The service and customer service have both gone downhill.

We booked a bachelorette party a month ahead and gave them our information and credit card. When we arrived, the hotel was under construction and the spa was closed. Nobody could reach the masseuse, and the bride was devastated and cried. The service was absolute garbage. Zero out of five stars.

I enjoyed how quiet it was most of the time as a solo guest. The massage was very good and relaxing, and the staff were accommodating and professional. It’s handy that McDonald's, Arby's, a gas station, and BK are all within 1/2 mile.
