Comfort Inn Wichita Falls North

We've stayed here four times in two years with our dog, and it used to work well as an overnight stop. This last visit changed that for us: we found a roach in the bathroom, and we won't stay here again because of it. The Wi-Fi and cable were also out most of the time. In an outdated, no-frills hotel, those are among the few things you count on, so I expected them to work or for some compensation to be offered. There were stained walls, dirty curtains, a nonworking phone, and a musty smell, too. The place needs a thorough cleaning, serious pest control, and general care. It has gone from dated to dilapidated.

On a cross-country trip with my mother and dog, finding an affordable, decent place that accepts dogs isn't always easy. This one was a pleasant stop for the night, with clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, and helpful, capable staff. Breakfast was nice, with eggs, sausage, biscuits, and gravy. The rates were very reasonable, and the pet fee was $20. There's also a 24-hour Whataburger right next door, an easy walk from the hotel.

The only drawback for me was the breakfast room. It felt too small for the number of people trying to get food. My room was nice, clean, and quiet, and the price was great.

The check-in clerk was efficient and gave me useful information. The sheets looked clean, but the bed was uncomfortable, with the springs easy to feel. There was a dead roach on the floor, thankfully dead. The carpet looked dirty, and black hairs in the tub and on the bathroom floor made it seem like the floor hadn't been swept or mopped. There was no Kleenex, either. Housekeeping needs retraining. This was the second Comfort Inn we stayed at that week where the floors needed sweeping and mopping. Not a good look for Comfort Inn.
