The TV was the big failure. I rented the same room, number 127, on two separate days, and both times it was internet-based and smart-based with no TV control at all, so I couldn't adjust it. I tried getting help from staff during the day and evening/night, but got nowhere. The room had what I needed: first floor, AC, a table and chair, and a tub with a handrail. I'm 79. The price was fair if the TV worked. I rented it because the AC in my efficient apartment had gone out, and it was repaired Wednesday morning.
I booked four days through Priceline and couldn't get the planned protection, so I was stuck staying. At check-in, the older man working there raised his voice twice and demanded to know what I'd paid Priceline. He seemed mad I'd booked through them for a cheaper rate. They required a $30 cash deposit, which they did return. I had booked a king room, but he gave me a double, and he wouldn't let me check in until 4 pm. Waiting until 4 was fine, but still felt unnecessary. The room smelled strongly of smoke, and the fire alarm seemed to have been torn from the wall, as other reviews have mentioned. There were roaches everywhere. I kept no food in the room and slept in a sleeping bag. The door lock was broken, and the door looked as if it had been broken into several times without being repaired. There was water damage on the ceiling that looked recent. Housekeeping woke me at 9 am every day, but the bathroom photos I posted show it wasn't being cleaned. Outside, there were creepy people staring whenever I left for Uber, and one night a man was checking door handles when I got home late. I took my valuables with me because the door wouldn't lock. It felt unsafe and unclean, and cost me my peace of mind. The worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
We left and canceled our reservation less than ten minutes after arriving. The room, number 128, had dirty sheets with cigarette burns, rusted holes in the tub, and some lights that didn't work. There was no smoke detector, just exposed live wires where it should have been. At the front desk, the girl greeted us with “What?!” There was no customer service to speak of, and the rooms were dirty and unsafe. Absolutely horrible.
This weekend I paid $58 for one night, but they would only take cash. My boyfriend paid by card the weekend before, when we paid $94 for two nights and had a decent room. This time the room smelled like cigarettes and was dirty. There were dead crickets in the bathroom, no hand soap, and the bathroom door handles were missing on both sides. I wouldn't shower in such a dirty tub. The workers barely spoke English, so I could hardly understand them. You get what you pay for, I guess, but for $58 I expected at least bathroom door handles. Very disappointing. Don't go here.
We had to leave the room after a few minutes because the air was giving me a sore throat, and fortunately another room was available. I needed clean air for the Hotter 'N Hell 100 early the next morning. The room was meant to be non-smoking, but the TV was still on and it reeked of smoke, with a strong fragrance trying to cover it up. The tub was extremely dirty, the carpet was stained, including a large bleach mark, and they had only left hand cream, no soap or shampoo. I doubt housekeeping had been in since the last guest; the tub clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We paid a $25 cash deposit, then the entry card wouldn't open the door. The pleasant front desk woman came to help, but her master key didn't work either. We were moved to the opposite side of the hotel and had to load the car and drive around. A suspicious-looking man was sitting by his car in a chair, and a few minutes later a woman came from behind the dumpster. I'm not sure what she was doing. We had to lean against the new room's door to open it, and the loud scraping must have bothered other guests. One of the worst hotel stays I've had.
