Comfort Suites Wichita

The website photos promise things that aren't actually there, and the pool was green-looking and ice cold. I changed rooms three times in two days: the first had no hot water and a broken shower faucet, the second had a bad smell, awful tub stains, and a loose sink faucet, and the third had roaches. I checked out and won't return. Don't let the location fool you into spending your money here.

I stay here often, but lighting seems to be getting neglected. One lamp was dead and the other had two burned-out bulbs, so I drove to Dollar General and bought replacements just to get some work done. The entry light needed a special bulb and didn't work either. Choice, do better.

The location was hard to beat, with a dozen or more restaurants and the usual shops just five minutes away. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean and updated. A couple of things need attention: the fridge in room 403 froze everything whatever the setting, even after I defrosted it, and the bathroom could use a night light. The exercise room only has two machines despite space for three or four more. The laundry machines are old and the dryer didn't work, but the front desk kindly took my clean laundry, dried it, and folded it.

The breakfast and staff were good, and the amenities were nice. The rooms were clean, but really outdated and badly in need of renovation. Aside from that, the rest of the hotel was good.
