Check-in went smoothly, and the rooms were decent. I was there with my crew for work for over a week, and the man on the overnight shift was ridiculously rude. He swore at one of my guys after his bracelet broke near the elevator, then the next night stopped him and kept demanding to know what he was doing there, even after he explained he was staying at the hotel. When we reported flies in the breakfast juice and asked for it to be changed, we were told to “deal with it.” Management needs to get that employee under control. The gentleman who checked me in was very nice.

I wasted a lot of time and money over something that could have been avoided. I called first to check whether they'd accept my temporary paper ID from the DMV, and the man said yes. But when I arrived with all my belongings, they refused to give me a room. As I waited outside for a Lyft with my things, the owner came out and gave me a few minutes to leave before they'd call the police. He said it made them look trashy to have me there with my belongings, as if I wanted to be outside that way. I was only in that position because they had told me my paper ID would be accepted.

The interior looks beautiful, and the rooms are roomy with plenty of space. It's somewhat hidden and parking is limited. There's a washer and dryer, but you have to pay to use them. My TV didn't work, there was no landline in the room, and they're not serving breakfast right now. Staff were friendly enough, though strict about check-in and checkout times.

This felt like a bait-and-switch. The online pictures showed a beautiful, updated place, but our room was old, outdated, and disgusting. There were no lights at all, the beds were gritty and full of hair, the couch was broken and folding in on itself, and most of its fake leather covering was gone. It smelled stale and smoky, and the door lock was busted enough that we weren't sure the door would secure. We decided to leave as soon as we arrived Wednesday night and told the front desk clerk about everything. He said he needed to talk to his manager and that the refund would come the next day. By Thursday afternoon, there was no word, and I got another runaround about the manager not being in. Friday brought more of the same, so we contacted corporate. Now they've charged us a second time for the entire stay and say they'll refund both charges. I'll believe that when I see it. For now, I'll have to keep the local authorities on speed dial.
