The staff were really nice, which is the reason for the two stars. Roaches were crawling around the room, and the heater worked only about half the time. That was rough with temperatures below freezing outside. The water was yellow and smelled awful, so we decided not to shower.

My mother warned me about this place, and she was right. The staff were extremely rude, and it took him 20 minutes to finally acknowledge the booking fee price. Otherwise, he was going to overcharge me. There wasn’t a coffee maker in the room, and the whole place smelled like Indian food. Country Haven in Hillsboro is much better, clean and with great amenities.

For what it costs, the place has what you need: clean rooms, hot water, good Wi-Fi, and comfortable beds. The owners are nice too. You can hear through the thin walls if a neighbor has the TV blasting, though.

The people in the office were so nice, especially the guy up front. He was easy to talk to and really down to earth. We had our three dogs with us, and I was very happy they were welcome. They’re my babies and mean a lot to our family. I’d stay here again and again. We travel in an RV now, but if my husband were still staying in rooms for work and I was with him, I could see living here. I booked even though the low price and old-looking online pictures made me worry it wouldn’t be clean. We were short on money, so we gave it a try. It was actually very clean, and I checked for bedbugs and didn’t find any. We stayed a couple nights while my husband worked nearby. The little fridge with a freezer and the microwave came in handy for keeping food and drinks and heating things up. It’s close to downtown and right next to a convenience store. I’ve stayed in plenty of old motels, and this one is much better than most that age. There’s no ice machine or coffee maker, which would be nice to have. For the price and age of the place, though, they’ve taken good care of it, so I’m giving it five stars. Thanks so much to Country Inn for being sweet and courteous and letting my dog stay with us. We’ll come back if we’re in the area. A friendly guest tip: an ice machine and inexpensive coffee makers in the rooms would be a nice perk. Buying coffee makers and coffee in bulk might help keep the cost down. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
