TownePlace Suites by Marriott Wichita East

Kamari greeted me warmly at the front desk and asked which floor I preferred. When she noticed my little cough, she offered to get me some water or something. That kind of compassion was lovely. The room looked recently updated and was clean. I slept on one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever had, and the kitchen had all the basics for a small meal or snack. The bathroom was spotless, the towels were soft and fluffy, and the shower had good pressure. Though the hotel allows pets, there was no sign any pet had been in my room. Breakfast had the usual basics plus a little extra. I enjoyed my stay at TownePlace and would come back.

The rooms were pretty nice, clean, and had decent amenities. It's a good spot if you want to be left alone, but you'll need to ask someone if you need anything. For the price, it wasn't bad at all. Breakfast was above average, one of the best I've had, with an oatmeal bar and breakfast sandwiches along with the usual options.

The cold shower was the last straw. It never warmed up, and paying for a room without hot water is ridiculous. There was also no dish soap, which seems like a basic thing for an extended-stay hotel that I shouldn't have to find or buy myself. The room layout felt thrown together and made no sense for comfort or convenience. Even the check-in area looked like a storage room, boxes piled everywhere. It seemed sloppy and unprofessional, nothing like what I'd expect from a Marriott property, and gave the impression no one was managing it. We usually stay at Element hotels by Marriott, but there weren't any on our way through Wichita. This visit left me irritated and disappointed. I won't stay here again unless they make major improvements.

The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Staff were welcoming and attentive whenever guests needed something. I also liked the convenient location and peaceful atmosphere. It made for a relaxing, enjoyable stay, and I'd highly recommend this hotel.
