The room was missing soap, and when I called, the desk clerk said he didn’t know what was supposed to be in the bathroom and wasn’t housekeeping. The sheets were nearly worn through, and the bed needs replacing. At check-in there was no Wi-Fi and no information about breakfast, and the staff were so uncheerful it felt like a graveyard. One person said late check-out was available, another said it wasn’t. After the reviews I’d read, I wondered if the staff had turned over, but either way this was unacceptable and unprofessional. Compared with other places in Wichita, this isn’t a decent place to stay.

That was it for us with LaQuinta, and we won’t give them our business again. I’ve had better treatment at the DMV. The first time I walked up to a counter and got a rude “what do you want?” was here, and my wife got the same treatment while she had our infant with her. The cable was out for 24 hours. Maybe she was upset about that, but it didn’t excuse the way we were spoken to.

The room itself was comfortable and clean, and it’s a good option for flying out of Wichita Airport if you don’t need a shuttle. I booked after calling and being told there was an airport shuttle, then learned at check-in that they hadn’t had one since 2019. That was disappointing.

We felt very safe here, and the place was great, too. It was clean and up to date. Claudia at the front desk was amazing and so helpful. Her friendly manner really helped calm things down when we were dealing with a stressful travel situation.

The anti-fog mirror was a nice little touch, and both the shower and bed were clean and comfortable. It’s just three minutes from the airport and right next to a strip club. Good times!
