I paid for two nights, but left as fast as I could and got my money back. The broken window had only a thin sheet of plastic glued over the hole. Inside, the bedspread was filthy and had cigarette burns, the sheets were gross, and the pillow had lipstick smears and who knows what else. When I turned on the light by the sink, roaches came out of the outlet. I grabbed my things and went straight back downstairs.
The owner moved me to a freshly cleaned room after I reported the problems in the first one. That room was much better, and I appreciate that he tried to help, though it still had issues. The bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way, and the second lock on the front door had been cut off. The first room wasn’t clean at all: the pillowcase was stained, there were a couple of cigarette holes in the bed, and the shower head leaked. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience.
After a stressful drive from Kansas, we were exhausted and mentally done. We’d booked a hotel a few blocks away, but it was disgusting, so we came back to the place where the kind woman who runs this one had given us directions. She found us a room at a reasonable price, and her empathy and warm manner helped us relax and feel at home enough to face the next day. I’m grateful for her dedication. Give that lady a raise, because she’s the only reason we stayed.
From the top floor, you can see quite a distance, and the place was peaceful with a great spot. The staff were professional and matter of fact, though not especially friendly.
Quiet place with great views and spacious rooms. The rooms were clean and free of bugs.
