Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wildwood The Villages by IHG

After driving all day from Missouri, we needed a last-minute room for a few hours of sleep. The staff were very nice and helpful. I believe the receptionist’s name was Beverly, and she was especially kind. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.

The staff were the best part of my six-night work stay. Front desk man Sheldon was super duper helpful and friendly. He suggested a barbershop where I got one of the best haircuts of my life, and even remembered a room issue I’d mentioned the next day. He single-handedly made my stay amazing. Manager Lara was also super nice, helpful, polite, and professional when I had a room problem. Thank goodness for both of them, because otherwise the hotel was just ehh. I wouldn’t have chosen this place for a work trip. The managers offered to help with the AC or move me, but I think it’s a building issue: the rooms were either too warm and muggy or way too cold. The hotel was across the street from a super center adult entertainment store, which felt super gross and isn’t somewhere I’d ever want to stay. There wasn’t much around besides McDonald’s, Waffle House, and gas stations, though it is conveniently located off the highway. I assume the breakfast was limited because it’s a lower-budget hotel. Nothing special, with healthy options, but I stuck with oatmeal every day and found the rest meh. The gym was a little muggy, the treadmills were very old, and it had dumbbells up to 50.

The hotel was very clean and had everything we needed. The front desk people were amazing and suggested a good place to eat. They got us an extra pillow and a toothbrush, and didn’t even charge for the toothbrush. Breakfast was good and hot. There were cheese omelets, a veggie white omelette, a cute pancake machine, sausage links, hash browns, juices, milk, oatmeal, cereal, and lots of fruit. I wish they’d had bacon. The woman in charge of the breakfast area was very friendly, chatted with guests, and kept everything clean. We gave her a tip.

I was here for a three-day class. The hotel had friendly staff, clean rooms, and a clean lobby. Breakfast was complimentary, with omelets, sausage, pancakes, several kinds of bread, cinnamon rolls that are the bomb, juice, and coffee. I’d highly recommend it.
