Coastal Sands Inn

The room was okay, but it was dirty. The mirrors hadn’t been cleaned, the silverware was dirty, and we had to ask for towels and more blankets. The online pictures didn’t match the room we thought we’d booked. We went to Family Dollar for our own cleaning supplies so we could mop and make the place feel somewhat comfortable.

We arrived expecting a king-size bed and got two twins instead. That part wasn’t such a big deal, but the room was disgusting. There was hair, dirt, and stains all over the floor, and what looked like pubic hair on the bathroom floor. The shower clearly hadn’t been cleaned either, since a previous guest’s soap was stuck to the wall. The pillows were throw pillows. It was obvious the room hadn’t been cleaned at all. I know it’s off-season, but if you host guests, you should at least make sure the place is clean.

We had such a great stay and would definitely return. It’s a delightful family-owned motel, with outstanding service from owners who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The price was great for what you get, and you can’t beat the location. Our clean, updated, comfortable room was on the third floor, with a balcony view of the boardwalk and the ocean side. The boardwalk is within walking distance, so there’s really no need to move your car.

The location is great, but I wouldn’t book here again. The people running the place were kind and helpful, though our first room had a broken shower. A staff member got it turned on, but then it wouldn’t turn off when one of us showered. He came back and couldn’t shut it off either, so they moved us to a slightly bigger room. That was nice, but it had no bedside tables, and the duvets were in a cabinet instead of on the bed. Parking is awful. Many spots require double parking, and the driveway to the single spaces is so narrow that one bad parking job can mess things up for everyone.
