Cozy Crest Motel

The motel employees were friendly and helpful, but the room really needs major updating. Before my family went in, I wiped down the walls by the bathroom because there were around ten spots on them. I couldn’t tell if they were mold, but there were too many for me to feel okay leaving them there without cleaning. There was so much dust on the air duct that it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for months, maybe even a year. I cleaned it myself, but still had asthma trouble and coughed throughout the stay. I checked the mattress carefully before letting anyone put anything on it because of recent bed bug reviews, and it was clear. The bathroom was gross: the vanity and toilet were new, but the shower caulking and the bottom of the curtain were completely covered in mold, and the drop ceiling tiles were sagging from water damage. The shower handle even fell off the wall while I was showering. Bring Clorox wipes to clean the room before using it.

We stayed in one of the bigger rooms, more like an apartment, and it was great. It was clean throughout and had modern decor compared with other places nearby. The pool was a nice size, with two Jacuzzis attached. Service was exceptional, and my family and I will be back next summer for sure.

The employees were very friendly, but cleanliness was the worst part of our stay. My family and I booked a room in 2017, and it was unkempt and smelled strongly of cigarettes. The carpet always seemed wet for some reason, and the pool had dirty water with lots of insects floating in it. I don’t know whether the room maintenance has changed since then, but I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We’ve stayed here before, and the owner-manager was friendly and helpful again. It was comfortable for what we needed and fit our budget. The rooms were fairly clean and well stocked, and the furniture and fixtures looked updated. The main drawbacks were the dated indoor-outdoor commercial carpet and the curtains, which could use replacing.
