Sunset Beach Hotel

Mr jay was a real lifesaver when we had trouble with our previous hotel. He let me book a room for my sons without any hassle, was pleasant and direct on the phone, and took very good care of my boys. I don’t think I’ll book anywhere else when I come to Wildwood. THANK YOU MR JAY

The location is excellent for Morey’s Piers, the boardwalk, and the convention center, and the staff were nice in our experience. But I can only speak to the room we had, and it was nothing like the online photos. The furniture was falling apart, the nightstand was dirty, and sand covered the floor so badly that it was slippery. My son and I both fell walking through the room. It smelled strongly musty when we arrived, and the room was very hot because the AC was off. When I went to turn it on, I saw black mold covering it, so I left it off and sweated all night. There were dozens of fruit flies, though I couldn’t find where they were coming from. The TV didn’t work, and the curtains wouldn’t close because their rod bracket had pulled out of the wall. The smoke detector was missing, with wires dangling from its mount. People talked outside the rooms until 1am, and the quiet hours weren’t enforced, so we could hear everything through the walls. The trash bins outside were overflowing, and there was heavy cigarette smoking around the building, especially in front of the rooms. There were no window screens to let in fresh air without bugs. Parking was another issue: guests share lanes and have to leave car keys at the desk so staff can move vehicles, or risk a ticket and tow. This wasn’t mentioned when we booked. The building fire alarm sounded at 12:45am, but it wasn’t loud enough to hear clearly in the rooms. I was awake, thankfully, or I might have slept through it. If you’re on a budget and can tolerate these issues, the location is very convenient. Other rooms may be better, but I can only rate the one we stayed in.

Robert was wonderful and helped everything go smoothly, thank you! My family and I spent three days here, and overall we had a great time. Our room on the third floor was very clean and had a great view, with everything nearby. Parking was the one downside. It wasn’t the worst, but the spaces were tight and cars parked close to ours.

The location is good and the price is affordable, but the bad outweighed those positives for us. Our room wasn’t clean and there were bugs everywhere. Staff also ignored our request for no disturbance until checkout. When we returned, maids were in the room, our belongings had been moved, and our drawers had been gone through. The door lock failed and would randomly leave the door unlocked. Most staff were nice, except for the older gentleman who works there, who was absolutely miserable. We definitely won’t stay again.
