Motel 6 Williams, AZ – Historic Route 66

Worst Motel 6 ever. Room 123 still has no heat, even when it’s freezing on Route 66. The property felt very unsafe, and the management was unprofessional. Can’t believe they use the Motel 6 name.

I booked a room at Motel 6 in Williams through booking.com, but it was extremely hot when I checked in. The control knob was missing, so it couldn’t be turned by hand. I called the front desk to report it, and the man called me a liar and hung up. When I came back, the young woman who had checked me in said the only way to turn the unit off and on was to unplug it. I asked for a different room, but she said all of them had the same broken unit.

We booked it as the Westener Motel, but found out it’s now part of Motel 6. The reviews for that place look basically just as bad, so check those too. The young guy at the office was rude and offered no help. We wanted to speak to the manager, but he wouldn’t help us get in touch, and he wouldn’t tell me his name. There was no WiFi reception in the old part of the hotel. Our room was dirty, the towels were old and worn, and the room smelled stale. When we asked to switch rooms because I need WiFi for work, he said no, then insisted they were fully booked. See the picture, right...

We never got to stay, so I can’t comment on the rooms. There was no option to check in late even though we were just passing through, and they offered no help with Priceline. Seems like a lot of money could be made by being unavailable at check-in and then refusing a refund.
