Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Williamsburg

I’m a longtime Marriott member, but I won’t be back. The rooms badly need updating and cleaning. Maybe the sheets are technically clean, but they don’t fit the undersized beds at all, as if twin sheets were put on doubles. Sinks won’t drain, carpets and curtains are stained, and the AC rattles. Even the toilet tank lid and seat don’t match the toilet, so nothing lines up. The problems just keep going.

The staff and manager were incredibly nice, and the hotel and our room were clean. My kids and I loved the indoor pool, especially since we were always the only ones in the big pool. Breakfast was good each morning too. We spent four nights here and had a very positive stay. It’s central to what we wanted to do, with an easy drive to the colonial areas, Great Wolf Lodge, and Busch Gardens. I’d happily stay again.

It was clean, convenient, well priced, and the staff were very nice. Breakfast buffet was fine too. The hotel does feel a little tired, though, and the furniture and TVs could use refurbishing. Three stars overall.

As a Titanium Elite member, I know hotels don’t all meet high standards, but this one was extremely outdated, smelled like mold, and wasn’t clean. Very disappointing. It falls well short even of low expectations, and frankly shouldn’t be affiliated with Marriott.
