Surry Seafood Company

We took the ferry over from Jamestown, and this restaurant was only a couple of minutes away. The weather was lovely, so we ate outside, with plenty of seats available. We enjoyed the view, the food, and the service at Surry Seafood Co. Everything was excellent.

Bo took great care of us, her service was AMAZING. We enjoyed the ride on the ferry and the peaceful views, and the food was good too. The TouchTunes music box was a fun extra. You can download the app and play songs from your phone while having seafood.

We’ve been coming for lunch often this summer, and it’s quickly turned into one of my favorites. It’s right by the water, with a warm feel even though it isn’t very big. The waitstaff are great and the food’s always good. Today my husband got the Captain combo platter and I had the stuffed flounder. Both were great, and the crab soup we started with was delicious.

The location is scenic, the fish combo was good despite being all fried after I asked for half broiled and half fried, and the light breading helped. The ham biscuits were great, and my granddaughter liked her burger. But the brocolini I ordered came as mixed vegetables that were undercooked and had no seasoning. The service was the bigger problem. There were lots of empty tables when we arrived, but the hostess asked for our name and said she needed to get organized. Two couples came in after us and were told the same thing. We were left standing, then told to sit down or wait outside. Thirteen minutes later, she seated us, despite saying there wasn’t really a wait. Our server seemed untrained and had an unprofessional attitude. The food runners were nice, though. They need better people, because this is hurting the business.
