War Hill felt far enough from the busy areas to relax, but it wasn't far from anything. We'd come back to the cottage after going out, sit under the trees with a cool breeze, and enjoy the swing. My two college friends and I shared it, and it worked out perfectly. Our host was kind and helpful, and made us a wonderful breakfast each morning. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to family. I'd definitely return!

The quiet setting, with cool breezes beneath the trees, was just right. After a day out, War Hill Inn felt like coming home. My two college friends and I were so happy with the location and the whole stay. Breakfasts were delightful, and our hosts were wonderful. I'm usually the one to complain about uncomfortable beds, but these gave me no trouble. I'd recommend this B&B even to a very particular traveler.

The Washington Cottage was so cozy, and we'll absolutely be back. The owners were incredibly kind and friendly, and we loved our evening walks to see the cows and dogs. I can't say enough nice things about the stay!

We were amazed by how beautiful and comfortable the inn was during our long weekend. Our host was so accommodating and made the family feel welcome. The rooms were clean, quiet, and well kept. We're definitely planning another visit!

The Wilson Suite worked perfectly for our family of 5. It's upstairs on the top floor, with two bedrooms separated by a bathroom and dressing area. One bedroom has a queen bed, and the back one has a full/queen plus a single. That back room also has a small fridge/freezer with decent space for drinks and leftovers. The dressing and storage area has shelves, a clothing rack, spare towels, cups, and a little fan. There was only one bathroom in the suite, but the hallway bathroom was a blessing when the kids were using ours. We came in summer, and the back bedroom's window AC worked well. I get hot and sweaty in Williamsburg's humid summer, but the small fan in the main room did the job for me. There's one TV with basic Cox cable, which suited us since the kids mostly watched Nick Jr. I liked seeing the cows in the field from our room, and the kids loved playing with Penny the dog. Since the War Hill Inn still wasn't serving breakfast, we made do with coffee from the Keurig in the dining room and brought in food or ate there. Usually we had breakfast bars in the room, went to local breakfast or pancake places, or ate dinner leftovers the next morning. It was barely post-COVID at the time. It's easy to find off Longhill Road, and a quick drive to Monticello shopping center, New Town, restaurants, and most area attractions. The main house has several rooms, so bigger groups can stay near each other while keeping some space, and there are two cottages as well.
