Holiday Inn Williamsport by IHG

The hotel is nice, but the restaurant is overpriced. The staff seem to play games with reservations, assigning rooms next to each other to coworkers who have already spent hours driving and working. They preassign rooms like a motel, as if they don't trust staff to check people in when they arrive. For amenities, it seems like all hard working adults get is overpriced drinks to relax their sore muscles.

The manager went out of his way to chat and get to know me, and he even helped one of my students find their ear pod case. The front desk was really friendly, and I felt safe during my business trip. On Tuesday evenings there's a small happy hour for guests, and on Wednesdays a group of older ladies eat at the restaurant and play bridge. They have dove products in the bathroom, and the laundry machines cost 1.50. It's also a short walk across the highway to the timber trail.

There was hardly any parking, and the front lobby looked unclean and had a noticeable stale smell. At check-in, the front desk couldn't find my booking and suggested I book another night since rooms were available, so I did. My American Express card then seemed to be frozen, which made check-in inconvenient. The whole experience was disappointing and fell short of expectations.

I've stayed here around 10 times over the years, usually for a night away, and have never left unhappy. The place is always clean and everyone is friendly. The soaking tub or jacuzzi rooms are an affordable little way to unwind. There's plenty of food and shopping nearby, and DoorDash or Uber Eats can deliver if you don't feel like going out. Great place to stay!
