Green Valley Motel

The quiet nights and soft light on the porch made this stay especially pleasant. I enjoyed sitting outside and looking at the night sky, and the 1970s furniture gave the place a fun flashback feel. I’d seen that kind of decor nearly 40 years ago, so it brought back memories. I’d happily stay here again when I come back to ski. I flew to Massachusetts for a job interview in North Adams, but ended up getting a job in Providence, RI. I arrived around 11 p.m. after booking the motel room shown in the photos, and it was just as I expected. I’d let the owner know I’d be late, and was relieved to find the key waiting right outside the office door. I was able to get in and settle down for the night.

They were happy to let our pup stay with us, which matters a lot since he's part of the family. The room was cozy, smelled fresh, and everything worked. It was clean, too, and the receptionist was sweet.

The new owners have been here just six months and are already making improvements. I see them working on the property every day. The place is comfortable, the people are friendly, and it’s one of the best local places we’ve stayed. I’m someone who tells people plainly when a place is worth it, and this one is. I’d give them more stars if I could. Please give them a chance.

The room smelled so strongly of cigarettes that it gave me a headache, and there were “love stains” on both beds and the nightstand. It was disgusting. When I told the owner, he said 90% of America smokes and that it was my problem. He also said he tried his best to keep the place clean. With an ashtray outside the door and stains all over, it sure didn’t look that way. I’d give it fewer stars if I could.
