The Williams Inn

One of the best weddings I’ve ever been to, with amazing vibes and a venue that’s hard to match. The staff were attentive and kept the space and food tables in order. I regret not taking photos of the spread because it was phenomenal. There was sushi and American and French main courses, all delicious and perfectly seasoned. I’d highly recommend coming here.

My husband always says not to set high expectations because you’re bound to be disappointed. I hate when he’s right. A boutique hotel set my expectations high, but this felt more like a clean, pet-friendly 3.5-star hotel. It looks good on the surface, while some basics are missing or lacking. They need to update the intro photos on booking sites, since many still show pictures from six years ago. Usually that wouldn’t matter much, but we were excited to use the hot tub after skiing, and finding out it was gone after the renovations was a real letdown. There are no blackout curtains. The shower went cold after ten minutes, and you can hear the hallway as if the door were open. From the hallway, people can see into the bathroom if you open the room door, through the gap between the sliding door and wall. The shampoo and conditioner aren’t very high quality. On the plus side, there’s a free coffee machine on every floor, and the hotel is pet friendly. They’ll bring a microwave if you ask, and there’s a free bottle of wine. They also provide bathrobes, which you probably don’t need, and a QR code in the room for tipping if you don’t have cash.

The historic part of Williamstown is a pretty location, with lovely views of the town and the college. Service was friendly, and there’s free coffee and tea on every floor. Rates are cheaper in winter. Dogs are allowed, as long as you attend to them so they aren’t left barking in the room all day. We did discover that it still happens.

The whole place felt welcoming, and we had a really enjoyable stay while visiting the area. Our room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and the restaurant and bar were both excellent.
