Econo Lodge Williston

My company used to stay here when it was an OK place, but it feels like something gets worse every month. Highway construction makes it hard to get there, breakfast keeps getting reduced, and when I ask for the manager, she’s either gone for the day or apparently only works at 2 a.m. I guess the cheap company rate is the only reason to stay.

Newly remodeled rooms, friendly staff, and a good price. Great place to stay, couldn’t ask for more.

The room was cozy, comfortable, and clean. The evening staff member who checked us in was so friendly, and told us about the breakfast, pool table, and restaurant across the street. Loved it!

I booked after reading the great reviews, so I wanted to share what I wish I’d known. The hotel looks like a basic Econolodge from outside, but the lobby is clean and renovated. The man at the front desk was very nice and checked us in well. Our single queen room had some extra floor space, was clean, smelled fine, and seemed freshly painted. I’d give it five stars apart from the bathroom. That was clean too, but the shower dripped, the fan was pretty dirty, and every flush made it seem like the toilet might overflow. The lighting didn’t help. I’d give the bathroom four stars. There’s a spacious breakfast area with good food, and we enjoyed the pool table. I was traveling with a 12-year-old, and didn’t see another woman there until the next morning. It’s oil country, and there seemed to be lots of traveling workers staying there. Even though it was Tuesday, an MMA fight or dance party started upstairs at 1:30 a.m. and went until 3. I called the front desk but got no answer. The night staff may have duties that take them away from the desk, and I wasn’t going to go upstairs to confront the people making noise myself. The hotel is nice and reasonably priced, but I wouldn’t stay there again with a child or as a woman traveling alone. I never felt threatened or unsafe around the guests I met. This is just my impression and how I felt during my stay.
