Holiday Inn Express and Suites Williston by IHG

Javi at the front desk gave me great service, if I’m remembering his name right. He was personable and happy to have a conversation, which made check-in smooth and enjoyable. My wife and I were very satisfied. 10/10.

I was settling into a rhythm after staying here for two weeks, but a billing dispute with Monica changed that. The charges were over $2,500, and I needed a code from my accounting department to approve them. I couldn’t explain that because she kept telling me to be quiet and listen first. Her attitude was poor throughout. Another staff member at the desk told her she couldn’t speak to guests that way and needed to be more respectful. Monica replied, “I am.” Instead of continuing the argument, I crossed the parking lot to Candlewood, where I got the customer service I deserved. I’d return if Monica were gone. I’ve heard they’ve had trouble with her before, and that the previous owner let her go once. Management needs to address this so it doesn’t happen again. Don’t tell a guest to be quiet before you’ve heard them out. My crew of more than 20 will stay elsewhere now, which could cost the hotel tens of thousands. Maybe the owner needs more stories like this to see there’s a problem. The rest of the staff are some of the best I’ve come across, and the breakfast is good. I’ve had thousands while traveling, and it’s clear the team cares. I wish I knew the kitchen lady’s name because she was fantastic. Parking is bad, though that’s out of their control. I’d rate the place a five if this hadn’t happened, but Monica brings it down to a three. I don’t get why people work in hospitality if they don’t like people. She should be moved somewhere without guest interaction, like room cleaning.

The room was spotless, and the bed was more comfortable than the one I have at home. Eli was so helpful. He brought a cart and helped get my luggage to the room since I can’t walk very well these days. His hair took me back to being a kid in the ’70s. I know he’ll do just fine in life. Great place to stay!

I’ve stayed here several times on trips to Saskatchewan, where my family lives. It’s a modern Holiday Inn in a good spot, with friendly staff. Having Walmart right next door and Starbucks across the street works well for me when I’m traveling. The only issue on my last two visits was renovation work. The hallways were a little cluttered, and sometimes there was work going on in the rooms across from mine. Nothing major disturbed me, though. The renovations look quite nice, and the price was good while I was there. The work was happening in December, which doesn’t seem like Williston’s peak season.
