Holly Crest Hotel - Los Angeles, LAX Airport

Everything was shared, including the bathrooms, so there was no private restroom. My room wasn't clean, and although I'd booked a non-smoking one, it smelled like people had smoked in it. The odor got stronger the longer I stayed. Service was poor too. I wouldn't book this hotel again. Like other reviews say, you might as well pay more for something better.

The shared bathrooms could have worked for me if there were real privacy. On each floor the men's and women's rooms each have toilets and showers together, and the shower stalls are right by the entrance, open to people using the toilets nearby. There isn't even one microwave anywhere in the building, which seems like such a basic thing to have. The hosts also harassed guests coming in. Unless you sign paperwork at check-in saying no guests, friends and family can come in or stay during a layover or venue visit. The family who owns the place made it a multilingual issue in front of us and other guests checking in. It was embarrassing for them. I wouldn't have bothered writing this if they'd just had a microwave 😅👌

The room and shared bathroom were very clean, and the bed was decent. I kept the AC running most of the night, so I didn't hear any noise. For such a cheap option compared with other places, I wasn't dissatisfied. It was perfectly fine for one night while I waited for my flight the next day.

Man, I met my lady there for a little one-on-one love time, but the toilet didn't work. Someone had left a chunky brown present in it, so I told my ol' lady to get it out of there. She got mad and left, which meant no loving for me :(
