TownePlace Suites by Marriott Dayton Wilmington

Update: Three days after my stay, shortly after I posted this, the hotel called and refunded part of the reservation. I booked a double queen through Priceline, but arrived to find a single king. The hotel was full and couldn't honor the reservation. Priceline wouldn't adjust what I paid even though the king rate was lower than the double queen rate, and the hotel didn't compensate me or return my call as promised. I won't use Priceline or booking.com again. The room itself was extremely clean and well designed, with a huge closet and plenty of outlets for charging devices. Angie at the front desk was very friendly, and breakfast was great.

The manager lacks basic customer service skills, and the rooms aren't well kept. The heating system was loud, constantly starting and stopping all night, which made it difficult to sleep. There are much better hotel options in the area.

The small printed sheet we got with our room key was the detail I appreciated most. It listed housekeeping information, breakfast hours, and when the hotel's amenities were open, which was a tremendous help. This Townplace Suites is one of the cleanest, best-appointed Marriott Hotels I've stayed in. Parking was ample, the staff were polite, and there's a bar on site with its own liquor license. Keep up the great work, Marriott!

If you're a chain smoker, this might be the place for you. There’s a nice patio out front with a fire pit, but it was full of smokers. Right by the hotel entrance there's also a convenient smoking area. Two people were puffing away there, and the smoke drifted into the front desk while I was checking in.
