Wolfjaw Lodge

The scenery around this cute little place is beautiful. It’s near santas workshop at the North Pole, ny, and the room was clean, cozy, and a decent price. There’s complimentary coffee, a barrel-shaped sauna you can use any time, and a laundry room. I had trouble with the thermostat, but the owners or management replied by text almost right away. For kids, there’s a school bus to explore. I think in other seasons it’s open as a “library,” and there’s also a pirate ship-style playground. Fire pits and picnic spots were mostly under snow during our visit.

The location is great for Whiteface, but there’s otherwise nothing around. We booked two rooms for four people because the full cabin was already taken. The rooms are really small, and the photos can be misleading. Winter was hard to manage in such a tight space. The only foot mat was tiny, so snow, sand, and water spread everywhere. We had to use towels to contain it and carefully avoid stepping past one area. Guests shouldn’t have to deal with that themselves. The beds were fine, but the sheets felt very synthetic and basic, like Walmart quality, and got hot. The worst part happened after we left. Our kids forgot to log out of Netflix on the TV. Someone went into our account, deleted all our profiles, and added new ones, including one called “Oscar” with an “Oscar the Grouch” profile. Based on the timing, this happened before anyone could check in, and I could trace where it was done, so it was clear it was them. Really disheartening and absurd. Wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful place, and the parking lot was kept clear. The rooms were clean. Check-in is done on your phone, but there was no reception. The listing said there was a lounge, though we couldn’t get into it.

Yuri and Jess were only a text away if we needed anything, and the personalized email and texts were appreciated. Check-in went smoothly, and they addressed our needs quickly. We stayed in a nicely laid out suite with a separate sleeping area. Loved the simple, modern feel, and the kitchenette worked perfectly for us. Thanks for a great stay!
