The bathroom had been nicely upgraded, with instant hot water, and the little retro fridge was cute. Our room, the Hamptons Room, had two queens and a futon, with nice decor. The beds were very comfortable, though the futon needs an upgrade. We had coffee on the small balcony shared with another room and never saw the other guests. It was a quiet street, and there’s a cozy espresso bar attached. That evening we had a cocktail and s’mores. Parking is free, the customer service was very good, and we’d stay again. I’d suggest blackout shades, since the light by the door shone in and made the morning bright, so sleeping in was harder.

The hotel is a busy place for socializing, and it doesn’t get quiet until after 11 pm. My room was spacious, and having parking on site was great. The cafe inside is a nice touch, though I didn’t try it. The hotel is mostly automated, with no real check-in counter, but a staff member was there in the evening to help with parking and explain how the room keys worked. It’s a nice place for a vacation, not too far from downtown Wilmington.

We only stayed one night at the Front Street Inn, but the staff made things easy, from parking the car to bringing us a bucket of ice when we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable, and the coffee bar on the ground floor was amazing. The back patio was inviting, too. It’s in a great spot, just a block from the Riverwalk and near historic sites. The planters on the second-floor deck could use some care. We really enjoyed our stay.

The place is quaint, cozy and convenient, and I love having on-site parking with roadside meters as another option. Getting the physical address from staff was a little difficult, even with several reminders about the stay. Finding the room and figuring out where to enter my code took some work too. Luckily, my companion had their wits about them more than I did, lol. Now that I know the setup, I love it and will absolutely come back.

Concorde Espresso Bar is a great little find behind the property in the back parking lot. It has fantastic coffee choices, a nostalgic feel, opens at 7:30 AM, and starts serving cocktails at 11:00 AM. This has become our favorite downtown place for short stays, with its historic charm and walkable location. We’ve only stayed in the Georgia O’Keeffe room, and it’s been perfect each time: old hardwood floors, comfortable bedding and linens, and check-in and check-out that are easy and efficient, with great communication throughout.
