The Bygone Hotel

We came away feeling refreshed, and the views were a big part of that. The setting felt peaceful, romantic, and grounding as soon as we arrived. The Bygone Hotel is thoughtfully designed, with a polished look throughout. We liked the Asana space, and the cold plunge is there as an option, though we didn't try it. The staff made things easy. They were friendly, proactive, and quick to communicate over WhatsApp. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and they were flexible about checkout, so the stay never felt rushed. A couple of things didn't quite work for us: the fire pit, and the pool temperature, which wasn't warm enough for us to get in even though the pool is heated. We could also hear cars on the road behind the hotel. None of those spoiled the stay, but they're good to know about. This is a fantastic place to reconnect with nature and the person you're traveling with. For a quiet, romantic Texas getaway with great views and a polished experience, I'd recommend it.

It was a charming, good value spot for a change of scenery. The honor bar had a nice range of options, and the place seemed fairly well maintained. Staff replied to our questions by text. You can hear some distant road noise, but in general it was quiet and relaxing. It's not fancy.

We held a company weekend retreat at the Bygone, a first for most of us, and the property was beautiful and intimate. The staff service was above and beyond: the women serving us were polite and accommodating, and the man cooking also made sure we had what we needed. Maria deserves a special mention. She worked tirelessly throughout the weekend, helping us early in the morning and late at night, and stayed pleasant the whole time. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality. I'd like to return for a personal stay.

Coming from Austin, we wanted a quick hill country break, and the amenities made it easy to settle in. There are convenient walking trails, a pool, a cold plunge, an excellent sauna, and a sweet little reading room, all thoughtfully laid out. The continental breakfast from Blanco Brew was included, which we appreciated.
