Americas Best Value Inn Winona

The location and rooms were great, and the hotel owner was very helpful. The white lady at the front desk, though, was rude to people of other races and needs to change her attitude. I was going to teach her a lesson, but then thought she was old, so let it go.

We were in town for a bike event and were told to book Holiday inn at $197, compared with American best value inn at $107. To our surprise, this hotel was very nice: the rooms were clean, updated, and spacious, and there was trailer parking. Breakfast was a simple walk-in setup, but it wasn’t bad, and it was well worth the money. Thank goodness pets weren’t allowed, so we didn’t have to hear a bunch of barking.

We stopped here on our way home to Missouri, and it made a nice halfway break. The room was a great price and clean, though it was outdated and too dark, with an old-fashioned bathroom. It did what we needed. Staff weren’t especially warm, but they were efficient.

We’d stayed here before without a problem, but this weekend we woke up to a roach crawling on the headboard. We bought Raid at the store, then got out of the shower and saw another roach crossing my pillow. We left right at checkout time and immediately moved to the Magnolia directly behind it, where we had a wonderful stay for the next three days. Book at your own risk.
