Sleep Inn Hanes Mall

I asked for a room at the back and a late checkout, but ended up right on the highway and in the delivery truck route. I work nights, and so do we, but there were kids running along the hall in the morning and trucks making loud delivery noises. At 11:00 someone knocked on the door, even though I thought checkout was at 12:00. Maybe nobody paid attention when I made the request. I’m completely disappointed. This could have been a five-star stay.

We got a clean room and common areas, great service, and a fantastic breakfast. For the price, it was a great hotel. We’ll definitely stay again.

I’m done with cheap, privately owned hotels, and this was my last stay at this Inn. The toilet tank kept overflowing every time it was flushed, though the bowl itself wasn’t the problem. I used several towels to soak up the water and waited until around 7 a.m. to call the desk because I didn’t want to deal with a room change or have someone clean it in the middle of the night. I was only there for one night, with checkout just a couple of hours away. The manager/front desk person said she’d come fix it and offered another room on the same floor, but moving that close to checkout wasn’t an option. I asked for a bill adjustment for the inconvenience and got a flat no. I didn’t make a fuss, but didn’t appreciate that response. The tank kept overflowing after they supposedly fixed it, so I packed up and left without another word.

I paid $579.97 for Sept 24-29, 2025, but an emergency meant I had to leave a night early. At the desk, I was told I’d get a refund for that unused night. When I asked for a receipt, they said the printer was broken and promised to email it. Nothing came until two hours later, when I was already driving home, and by then they said there would be no refund. They also never applied the senior or AAA discount they’d promised. I spoke with the manager, Alpesh Patel, who made no effort to sort it out. In my opinion, keeping my money seemed to matter more than helping me as a customer, and they care about making money rather than resolving problems. Room 310, a King bed, wasn’t satisfactory either. The sink was clogged, the shower door didn’t work properly and let water onto the floor, and housekeeping was below expectations. Poor communication, no transparency at the front desk, unhelpful management, and the room condition made the stay frustrating. I can’t recommend this hotel. There are much better options.
