River Road Motel

We left because the room became stuffy and uncomfortable in the 90-degree heat. The AC kept shutting off and wouldn't come back on. When I asked for a refund, I was told no. We were also double booked, and a man walked into our room. At check-in around 3, the keys weren't ready because they were cleaning. The room we got was nasty: unvacuumed floor, vomit powder on it, a bathroom that had only been wiped down, dirty mirrors, no hand towel, soap, or toilet paper, and dead bugs on the wall. When I reported it, the owner said she didn't believe me. She said they were full but would refund us, then started clicking away. I asked whether we could keep the room, and she said we had to leave. We had just arrived and didn't know if anything else was available. There wasn't. I asked if someone could at least recklessly clean our room, and she sent her kid to vacuum. Her son said supplies they'd ordered the week before would arrive that day, though reviews showed they had been out for three weeks. Also, before check-in we saw her son at the bar hammering drinks down. We saw him again at checkout, hitting on some of the women coming in to check in. We know it was him because she was standing next to us. Stay far away from this place.

The location was perfect for walking to the main strip and exploring the shops, and we'll definitely stay here again on vacation. Our first upstairs room was nice and clean, but the previous guest had left the heat blasting, so it was very hot. We ran the AC while we were out, but it was still warm when we returned. Sarah, the on-site manager, was awesome. She moved us to a lower room that was easier for my fiancée's back issues. It was bigger and much nicer, too. Sarah was friendly, hardworking, and gave us amazing customer service. Shout out to her for a great vacation experience!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS MOTEL. I called several times and couldn't get an answer, and the staff never returned my calls. This motel should be shut down. There are plenty of other motels, hotels, and resorts nearby that will treat your business far better.

Less than an hour before check-in on the day of my stay, I was told the hotel was overbooked and my reservation was canceled. There was no warning beforehand. They refunded me, but did nothing to find or pay for another hotel, so I was scrambling at the last minute hundreds of miles from home. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. I won't book here again.
