Woodside Dells Hotel

The room and pool were clean, and the pool was huge, deep, and had floaties available. The heater worked well and the location was great. Workers were friendly too. There wasn’t a hot tub, even though it was marked on the property map, maybe they close it in winter, and there’s no free breakfast. The bed was kind of hard, the tub drained poorly, and the WiFi and cable were spotty. The so-called game room had nothing but pool floaties, no games at all. Things felt outdated, especially the bathroom, and if you’re over 5’5”, the shower is hard to use.

We went in the off season, so it was really affordable. The place was clean and very central, and we could walk to most things downtown. The pool was nice, deep, and warm. The front desk was as helpful as I needed, though the room could have used better lighting.

It’s walkable to downtown dells, where there’s Showboat Saloon and the ghost boat outdoor bar, and Big boy is close by for good burgers. Plenty of Ubers are around too. Noah's ark and Mount Olympus are a little farther away, but the trip is worth it. The rooms are very nice and the beds comfortable. Best part for me was the pool, with a nice 9 ft deep end and plenty of room to swim. I’ll definitely be back to spend time in the pool and sauna.

Don’t stay here. The outside doors don’t lock, and there was a mouse in our room. They showed no sympathy and acted as if that was normal. There was no manager on site. They said she’d call, but she never did. I called back and was reassured she would call, but still nothing. I had to return to the hotel and demand to speak with her. They gave us a 15% discount, then our credit card statement showed they took half of it back.
