We left and went to the Days inn up the road. For $300 a night, I expected comfort and service, and got neither. The day before arrival, I called to request early check-in because we had an event. When we got there, there was no record of the request, so we had to wait for our room. The bathroom door wouldn't stay shut, but we changed quickly and left for the event. Back at 1am, there were no blankets on the beds. At the office, I found a family who said nobody was there. They'd been waiting since 1130pm because their key card wasn't working, and it was now 139am. They said corporate couldn't help and told us to call the local police. Nassau county police came, but still there were no staff on the property. Absolutely the worst place I've ever tried to stay at. Don't stay here under any circumstances.

The room did what we needed it to, and it was clean, but small. Breakfast wasn't hot, though the pastries were good; the coffee was so-so, and there were no fountains for filling water bottles. Our door kept losing its programming, so we had to return to the front desk repeatedly. It looked like it had been kicked in and ought to be replaced. Light and cold air came through the crack.

The staff were good, parking was included, and the free regular and decaf café latte was a nice touch. My egg sandwich on an English muffin was okay. But the room had a funky smell from the carpets, which I think need replacing with wood flooring. The hotel should also use scent-free cleaning products. It didn't meet my expectations.

We liked the fresh New York bagels and coffee machine at breakfast, even though the free spread had limited choices. The clean, comfortable room was in a quiet, tidy suburb, close to several businesses and a grocery store.

Heather at the front desk was so sweet and made extending our stay easy when we needed to. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. The area is amazing, feels super safe, and has lots of good places to eat and plenty of supermarkets. I had a great experience at best western in woodbury and would 100% stay here again.
