The place was very clean, and I liked the view and being within walking distance of most places. The room itself was a different story. It felt like an updated old motel room with an awkward layout, and it wasn't the “Loft” or “Home in Yachats” described in the Airbnb listing. The shower, bed, and couch seemed suited to very short people; the bed and couch were extremely low. The 100% linen sheets were unbearably scratchy. There was no closet or luggage space, just a few hooks on driftwood. The refrigerator was awkwardly tucked behind the front door, which opened the wrong way. When the coffee maker ran, the light to the right of the TV dimmed noticeably, so I wondered about electrical problems. There was only one trash can and one set of towels per person for the two of us. The heating and AC unit sat right over the bed, blew constantly, circulated air poorly, and had no instructions. You couldn't watch TV from the bed, and only one French door opened. The listing left out the backup entry instructions. The keypad directions also didn't explain that you had to enter the code again to lock the front door. Unless it was shut FIRMLY, the deadbolt didn't engage in the bore, leaving the place unsecured. The neighborhood had older, budget-style homes.
