The Dublin House Motel

For under $100 a night, I was skeptical, but the room was adorable and clean. I liked the hard floors instead of hotel carpet, and there were lots of movie channels, a fridge, a microwave, and a cute table by the window with dimmable lights. The bed could be more comfortable and the shower pressure could be stronger. Still, for this price, it was absolutely worth it. A phenomenal shower and an amazing bed usually cost quite a bit more. We'll definitely stay here again.

After a long drive with our two dogs, we got up at 6 a.m. to go clamming at Agate beach. At 7, when quiet hours end, we started loading up quietly. The manager called to say we were too loud. I told him we were checking out and doing our best to be quiet, but he told us to leave right then and head on down the road, even though I'd just said we were leaving. We've traveled a lot and have never been kicked out over a noise complaint. The walls are paper thin, so be especially wary if you're traveling with kids. Hours after we were kicked out, they also charged us $25 for a dirty towel. Just wow. Never again.

It's an older hotel, and the room is dated, but we were comfortable and it wasn't too noisy. I could tell the walls were thin, though it didn't cause us a problem. The staff were great, and after reading other reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I'd be happy to come back.

The rating set our expectations too high. There were barely any outlets, the bathroom ceiling had mold under cheap white paint, and brown marks dripped from the vanity lights. The door barely locked, the bathroom fan didn't work, and the walls were extremely thin. Watch your shins and knees on the bed frame. There were no blackout curtains, and the coffee pot was dirty enough that water through it looked like tea. The water tasted so bad it almost made me puke, so we bought a gallon of purified water at Dollar General. The bathroom sink sprayed me like a shower. The water pressure was strong, but hot water for an actual shower was limited. There's no public bathroom, and they send you to the dollar store if you need one. The desk isn't staffed, so if the door is locked you'll have an awkward phone conversation on the red phone. They were friendly, but I'm deaf and the choppy call made communication hard. I can't see us choosing this place again if we can help it.
